The best way to save money on your timber is often to consider carefully which wood you really need. Oak is one of the more expensive woods, and yet often it is not the most suitable. Look at the alternatives and you might save a lot of money and do a better job.

As well as this there are a couple of other ways BTS may save you money:

If you are happy for your beams or boards to include one waney edge (in other words one edge has bark and is not totally straight) a 10% discount is usually offered.

No VAT – we keep our turnover under the VAT threshold so can quite legally sell you timber without charging VAT – a great saving for personal customers or non-VAT registered businesses.

Clearance stock – we often have surplus stock at 30-50% off to clear. This is usually unselected stock with waney edges and maybe other faults. If you need a mixed bag for small scale projects this could be ideal for you.
